This is a calm and serene place to stay near the heart of Santa Barbara. The cottages are comfortable, charming, and cozy. Dominique, the innkeeper, is attentive and prepares a wonderful homemade breakfast. We enjoyed our one-night stay here and the hospitality that came with it. Hope to be back soon!

Absolutely delightful. The room was small and had character - just the way we like it! Very comfortable. It had a large bathroom, hairdryer, mini-fridge, coffee maker and television, our own private patio, and chairs in the garden! What more could we need? The perfect breakfast, of course! Oh, my, to sit in that lovely garden with a full breakfast was dreamy! Thank you so much for a lovely stay!

This bed and breakfast has a special place in my life. My wife and I visited it when we were in our 20s and we are now in our 50s. The charm, serenity, privacy, and feeling of escape has remained consistent. Now that we are older, we brought our son and his girlfriend, each of us staying in one of the small cottages (we stayed in the Wood Thrush, the same room we first began our memories in, and they stayed in the Hummingbird). We truly loved our stay and only wished we could have stayed longer. Dominique is a lovely hostess, from the care she puts into her establishment to the breakfasts she carefully prepares to the warm atmosphere she creates. We highly recommend you add it to your memories. A+

Look at the website. Most buildings in the SB area are older, this b&b is no exception to that, so know what you're walking into. The place is beautiful and quiet, exactly what we were looking for. The breakfast was huge, and the croissants are out of this world. Wife and I will 100% return and enjoy our alone time in the beautiful scenery this excellent b&b provides. Great, friendly service - can't wait for our next stay.

Great location, very nice property, easy private and free parking, WONDERFUL breakfast included with room. Room furniture and cushions etc a bit dated but mattess is very comfortable. Will definitely stay here again.

Very nice experience to stay here. So nice French lady owns it, and she hosted us in a French style with a delicious huge breakfast with croissants and fruits and she was so nice that she remembered that I am vegan and made me absolutely fabulous vegan pesto polenta and French bread made of almond flour. I was in 7th heaven to find out! The room was cozy, clean, and quiet. We will always come back to this place if we come to Santa Barbara, and will keep recommending to our friends and family.

Convenient location near mission and 101. Charming property with outdoor space to relax in nice weather. Cozy, old fashioned room. Gracious hostess. Real breakfast. Comfortable bed. Nice amenities. This was my second stay and I have recommended to friends.

We had a great time! Service was amazing and the property was so cute. The hot tub and bath were both in great condition and were exactly what we were hoping they would be. The included breakfast was also great and came as a nice surprise (we didn't know this ahead of time)

This was one of the best experiences I've had. We reserved two cottages and one room to attend the premiere of our film at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. Dominique was so lovely and gracious. Her breakfast options are outstanding and delicious! The cottages are beautiful – truly a home away from home. This is absolutely a place I will return to. We spent a weekend at the Secret Garden Inn and Cottages, and it was awesome. We were in town for the Santa Barbara Film Festival, and the friendly service and those extra little touches really impressed us. Great experience!

The most darling spot in Santa Barbara! Super close to downtown while still feeling cozy and intimate. Breakfast is made fresh and is so lovely! Will definitely be back!

We wanted to get away from it all after one of our cats died unexpectedly. It was so hard finding a place we could go with our other two cats, but thankfully we stumble upon this charming place. The room was perfect, with tasteful decor, pretty bathroom tiles and a very comfy bed. We booked the garden room which had a lovely yard where we ate our breakfast daily, which is included! We got delicious croissants both days, cantaloupe and yogurt and yummy plum jam, and my boyfriend got eggs. They even brought it to the room! We felt very pampered and everyone we told about it was so jealous of our stay. The innkeeper is so nice and I loved her cat Peanut, who reminded me a lot of the cat we just lost. Every interaction with the innkeeper and her staff was lovely and pleasant, we would definitely stay again. If you're looking for a cat-friendly stay you can't do better! Even if you don't have cats it's a really beautiful and peaceful retreat and we would definitely recommend it!

We have been coming since 1983. Dominique has been our host for the last 25 years. Her breakfasts are pleasing to the palette and the eye. Our “Garden” room is cozy and spacious. Lots of room to spread out. The weather was friendly as is the town of Santa Barbara.

Great location! Host was kind and let us check in a bit early. I loved the homemade croissants!! Having the private spa was great as well

We are repeat guests which says it all. The breakfast is wonderful, as is the conversation with Dominique. I, unfortunately, lost my watch someplace, but that is my carelessness.
